John: I’ve heard people say that all Democrats have to do to win back the majority in Congress is wait for voters to become disillusioned with President Trump and the GOP. Because the party out of power always makes big gains during a midterm, right? Wrong. 

That thinking is disastrous to our party, our country, and the millions of working families relying on us to stop the reckless and dangerous actions of President Trump and Congressional Republicans rubber-stamping his agenda.

My Democratic colleagues in Congress and I are fighting back, doing everything we can to stop the illegal actions of this President. To stop the cruel policy choices which sell out the most vulnerable among us to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. It doesn’t always make the news, but trust me, we are throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at this: lawsuits, shadow hearings, endless procedural tactics to slow the process, town halls, rallies, and work in the media and in our communities to change hearts and minds.
