When I took office as Maryland’s Attorney General, I made a promise:

• To defend the rights of every Marylander.
• To protect our communities from harm.
• And to lead with principle, no matter the political winds in Washington.

This year, we’ve seen just how urgently that work is needed.

From mass firings of federal employees to threats against birthright citizenship, from pulling education funding to slashing support for AmeriCorps and clean energy, this administration isn’t just changing policy. They’re undermining the core values we stand for as a state and country.

As your Attorney General, I’ve been preparing for this moment because the work of protecting our communities, our freedoms, and our future doesn’t just depend on who’s in the White House—it depends on all of us.

Since day one, I’ve used every legal tool at my disposal to challenge these dangerous and unlawful actions. We’ve joined more than two dozen lawsuits to hold this administration accountable—and we’re just getting started.

But I can’t do it alone.
