John,
When we say young people are the future, it’s not a platitude. It’s a strategy.
Time is one of the most valuable assets in politics – and young people have it.
Let’s be 100% clear: We aren’t hitting the campaign trail and asking anyone to vote for our candidates just because they’re young. That would be dumb. 🙄
What we are doing is asking people like you to make a long-term investment in the leaders who will carry the torch on gun violence prevention, action on climate change, abortion access, voting rights, and every issue over the next 30+ years.
We know that these fights aren’t going away anytime soon. And if we want to win them, we need a bench of unapologetically progressive leaders for the long haul.
We’re staring down the end-of-month fundraising deadline, and we are asking folks like you to join us by making an investment in the future of our country.
John, can you rush a $5 contribution now before tonight’s deadline?
Many of our most celebrated leaders were first elected by age 35:
🔵 Abraham Lincoln
🔵 Barack Obama
🔵 Stacey Abrams
🔵 John Lewis
🔵 John F. Kennedy
All of these leaders (and countless more) got their start in politics when they were young. Just imagine the leaders of tomorrow that we’re electing together today.
We don’t take corporate PAC money. Neither do our candidates. That means our work is 100% powered by grassroots donors like you — and in many of these down-ballot races, we’re the biggest supporter these young candidates have.
But right now, we have a major fundraising deadline tonight at midnight, and we’re still short of where we need to be to ensure we can keep up the fight.
The leaders we elect today are the same ones who will be running for Senate and the White House in the years ahead. Let’s make sure they actually represent us.
Thank you,
David Hogg
