John,

A little over a week ago, I reached out to ask you to join me in calling on Congress to ban the use of tear gas in the United States. In the days since, tens of thousands of DFA members have signed on to our joint petition.

Tear gas is a chemical weapon banned in war, yet police departments across the country are using it to disperse peaceful protests and attack American citizens.

Thanks to public pressure from you and progressives across the country, Democrats in Congress are responding.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just introduced legislation banning the use of tear gas by police in the United States. She’s counting on a massive swell of grassroots support to make this bill law.

If you agree tear gas should be banned in the United States, please add your name to my joint petition with DFA. Become a Citizen Co-Sponsor of AOC’s bill banning the use of tear gas in the United States now >>

People across the country are raising their voices and risking their personal safety to protest police violence against Black Americans.

And police have responded by using a chemical weapon banned in war here on American citizens.

As we continue the push to stop out-of-control police departments across the country, we need to enact a national ban on tear gas.

A chemical weapon banned in war has no place in American communities.

Will you add your name next to mine to become a Citizen Co-Sponsor of AOC’s bill banning the use of tear gas in the United States?

Thank you for taking action today and continuing to raise your voice.
