John, I just released my annual financial disclosure form, and it only took me 5 minutes – because I don’t own any stocks.
And that’s exactly what Republicans love attacking me for: not being rich.
They can attack me all they want, but I have no shame. Unlike them, I haven’t abused my office to get rich off stock trading.
When I ran for Congress, I drove for Uber and took on credit card debt just to get by. And after my swearing in, I got denied from apartments in D.C. because of my credit.
So it’s funny when I get called out for experiencing the struggles that working class Americans experience everyday – because shouldn’t we have more leaders who know what it’s like? I think if we did, Congress would work a lot better than it does now.
I’m proud to represent us, and I’m committed to fighting for all of us. But it wasn’t easy for someone like me to get to Congress, so I need your support to stay here.
If you believe in having representatives who can actually represent the lives real people live, will you chip in to my campaign before our May end of month deadline? Every dollar helps me keep fighting for us in Congress, and build a fair future for the working class? >>
