For decades, the Republican Party has tried to eliminate reasonable limits on how much political parties can spend in coordination with candidates’ campaigns. Those efforts have failed at every turn.

But now, Trump — alongside national Republicans’ congressional campaign committees — is urging the Supreme Court to remove the limits on the amount of money that donors can funnel to candidates through party committees’ coordinated expenditures.

To put it simply, this is a blatant attempt to let billionaires buy our elections.

So Democrats are fighting back. Today, the DNC — along with the DSCC and DCCC — just filed a motion to intervene to protect our country’s campaign finance laws.

We’re using every tool at our disposal — including aggressively confronting Trump in the courts — to ensure the American people have the loudest voices in our democracy.
