Freshman Orientation: Not What It Used to Be
|
|
The Story
Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America, was proud to send her youngest son to Virginia Tech. With such a history, Virginia Tech seemed a great choice. But, according to Nance, once freshman orientation began, so did a brew of lefty propaganda and indoctrination (paid for by taxpayers; after all, this is a public institution).
In Short
The parents’ orientation featured a rather alarming warning: “Parents, don’t be shocked if your kid comes home changed.” The attitude they conveyed was one of how “privileged” parents should feel that the university selected their children to attend such a fine and prestigious university. Lucky them. And lucky taxpayers.

California Shows Why Students Need an Escape Hatch From Public Schools
The state’s overhaul is heavy on academic social justice gobbledygook like “cis-heteropatriarchy” and--with its placement of capitalism alongside hateful ideologies like white supremacy--short on truth. Frustrated parents from coast to coast know that the only way to make their voices heard is to attach consequences to their dissatisfaction. Otherwise, we will all reap the consequences of inaction.
