IBO's Broadband Expansion Efforts and How YOU Can HelpThrough Round 1 of the
BEAD program, the
Indiana Broadband Office has been able to provide over 90,000 locations, or about 70% of eligible locations,
with access to high-speed internet.
After receiving feedback from internet service providers who participated in Round 1, IBO is now completing the development of the Round 2 project.
IBO's goal for Round 2 is to make the broadband expansion process more efficient, and to do that, they are asking for
YOUR help.
IBO has the opportunity to remediate locations that are not eligible to be serviced by broadband. For example, IBO found a barn that does not need broadband service but is still
considered an eligible Broadband Service Location (BSL) on the
Indiana map.
Here is how you can help: If you are aware of a BSL in your territory that is not able to be serviced, contact IBO and let them know! Check for BSLs using the map linked
here.
To contact IBO, send an email to
[email protected] and they will provide you with the next steps.
