** Birdathon Winners and Last Call for Donations
------------------------------------------------------------
[link removed]
This year we had 29 amazing teams participate in Birdathon!
Some teams are returning, like The Bauer Birds who completed their 10th Birdathon, while other teams are brand new to Birdathon like Huffin and Puffin. This year we’ve also had the most diverse set of teams we’ve ever had, with more families, new birders and people of color participating than ever before!
Drumroll please…
* The winner for the “Most Species Seen” is May I Speak to Your Tanager, led by Matt Felperin, with 103 species.
* The winner for “Most Species Seen by a New Team” is Flock Around and Find Out, led by Arielle Smith, with 72 species.
* The winner for “Youth Birder” is the reigning champ - the Scarlet Teenagers who saw 100 species!
* The winner for “Backyard Birdathon” is another reigning champ, led by our very own Betsy Martin, Birding Friends of Little Hunting Creek, with 42 species.
* The winner for “Widest Age Range” on a team is Birding Since ‘98, led by Jade Jansen Abuzaid.
* The only prize remaining is the winner for Most Funds Raised, which we will announce on June 8 at our Annual Meeting and Alliance Afternoon when we celebrate all of the winners and participants ([link removed]) .
Donations for Birdathon will be accepted through tomorrow, so please consider a last minute gift for one of our winning teams! See the full team list here ([link removed]) .
