Legislative Update
Dear Friends,
The 2025 legislative session officially ended on May 19th, but our work isn’t done just yet. Several budget bills remain unfinished and working groups are making progress. A special session is expected, potentially beginning as soon as next week, though no official timeline has been confirmed.
In the meantime, I want to share some exciting local news:
Highway 169 Interchange Project Breaks Ground in Jordan
After 25 years of conversations and planning, crews have officially broken ground on the interchange project in Jordan that will improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection of Highway 169, Highway 282, and County Road 9. This long-overdue project also includes a new pedestrian tunnel and major bridge repairs.
As someone who lives in Jordan, raised a family here, and spent years as a principal in our schools, I’ve seen firsthand why this project matters. I’ve heard from local business owners who’ve supported this project but are understandably anxious about the impact of construction. I encourage everyone to shop locally and continue supporting our small businesses throughout this project.
This has truly been a bipartisan effort, and I want to thank everyone, from federal partners to local officials, who worked together to make it happen.
You can watch my remarks at the groundbreaking here: [Breaking Ground]
Thank you for the honor of serving as your state representative. I’ll continue to keep you updated as we learn more about the timing of a special session and any legislation that may be considered.
Sincerely,
|
