Hey John, it's Tre.

Last Tuesday, I joined over 100 advocates, survivors, and community
leaders for the One Aim Coalition Advocacy Day in Springfield to make it
clear that when our communities suffer, we won’t stay silent.

March For Our Lives organizers from Palatine showed up alongside G-PAC,
Brady, Purpose Over Pain, and other groups to protest for gun law reform
at the Illinois State Capitol. We’ve seen what happens when action is
delayed, and we’re not willing to wait any longer.

In addition to demanding stronger gun laws, we also showed up to fight for
access to clearance rate data from police departments. Too many families
are still waiting for justice in unsolved gun violence cases, and they
shouldn’t be left in the dark wondering if their loved one’s case is still
being worked on or forgotten altogether.

I got into this work because I lost people I love to gun violence. But
what keeps me going are moments like Tuesday, where you can feel just how
hard people are willing to fight for change.
