80 years ago, we began providing services to soldiers returning from World War II – and supporting veterans and military families has been a crucial part of Easterseals’ mission ever since.

After his service, Jonathon struggled with his transition out of the Army. He was unemployed with a newborn baby to support and felt more and more isolated every day.

But with support from Easterseals, Jonathon was able to find help for his family, rediscover passions that he wanted to pursue, and tap into his potential to find a job he loves. Today, he helps homeless veterans find housing – and he says that he is “the best version” of himself.

"[Easterseals takes] you out, they refurbish you, they refinish you, they sharpen you, and they give you a new purpose,” Jonathon says. “Through that community, through that engagement, through the supports that are there, it gives everybody a fighting chance.”
