Advocacy Updates

The systems and funding streams that support childhood lead poisoning prevention, the work of our partners and the resources that Rochester families depend on are in jeopardy and need your help now:
-The staff at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program have been terminated and no actions have been taken to reinstate this vital program. Reach out to your US Senators and your Representative to ask that they direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to reinstate the program with staff immediately. Find your members of Congress here.
-The Coalition has long included representatives working with Head Start families. You can help protect Head Start by taking action at their advocacy page.
-The federal budget being considered right now also proposes deep cuts to Medicaid a support that many families in Monroe County rely on. To support Medicaid take action at the Healthcare Education Project's advocacy page here.
