John –
Our economy is slowing. Prices on everyday goods are rising. This is a moment when elected leaders should be taking extra steps to lift up working families.
Instead, House Republicans passed a budget bill last week (by a 1-vote margin) that will make more people go hungry and cause many to lose their healthcare.
We refuse to sit idly by when a razor-thin GOP majority chooses to use its power so cruelly. And we can REVERSE that majority in 2026. Will you chip in today to help make that happen?
The GOP's bill contains historic cuts to Medicaid and SNAP will hit the Midwest hard: nearly 7 million Midwesterners rely on Medicaid, and nearly 8 million count on SNAP benefits to afford daily meals. They will force already-budget-strapped states to cover the cost of basic healthcare and food assistance. People will fall through the cracks, and essential state services will deteriorate.
Republicans do not care about the devastating impact of their policies – so long as they get to gift billionaires with another tax cut. That's all this budget-making process has been about, and it's completely out of step and out of touch with the very real struggles so many face.
So let's not mince words here: Midwestern Republicans sold out their constituents. Now, we need to make them pay the price at the ballot box and elect a Congress that's serious about lifting everyone up – not just billionaires.
Midwest Majority PAC is moving fast to hold Republicans' feet to the fire.
We're going to help mobilize people in competitive districts (the list of districts on the radar keeps growing, as the backlash to the GOP's policies keeps building). We're going to put pressure on GOP members to face their constituents – and track who's too cowardly to show up.
And we're going to make sure that voters hear compelling narratives about the actual Democratic vision for governing. We're going to break through the narratives about the party that have taken hold in too much of the Midwest – and show that there's a new slate of candidates running for Congress who offer both bold and common-sense policies that can dramatically improve folks' lives.
There's a lot of work ahead, and we won't accomplish it alone. So if you believe in our mission, please stand with us by making a donation today.
More soon,
Midwest Majority PAC
