Friends of LittleSis,
Organizers across the country broke records this month with over a THOUSAND May Day events taking place across 800 towns and cities in all 50 states, demonstrating that while billionaires hold a disproportionate amount of wealth and power, our power is in how our movements are mobilizing.
Made possible by May Day Strong, a coalition of 200 plus organizations, these actions brought millions to the streets calling for, “a country that puts our families over their fortunes—public schools over private profits, healthcare over hedge funds, prosperity over free market politics.”
Empowered by greed, the billionaire class has used this current political moment to advance their agenda. From cuts to medicaid and other vital public services, to attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion—the working class faces threats from all sides and Elon Musk is not the only billionaire to blame for this.
This is why, on May 1st, 60,000 workers from across so many industries joined strikes to call for a different agenda—one that puts workers over billionaires.
The fight to take back our power from billionaires and corporations will take various tactics working in tandem—we must act together! Check out May Day Strong for upcoming training and other ways to stay plugged in.
May Day was a reminder that our strength lies in forming strong coalitions across social and labor movements; our capacity to do this is strengthened when we have a better understanding of current power structures and are familiar with our movement's history. |
