NCUA sees win in FOM appeal [ [link removed] ]
In a win for the NCUA in its lawsuit brought by the American Bankers Association (ABA) challenging the agency's 2016 field of membership (FOM) rule, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit Tuesday remanded the case with instructions to issue summary judgment in favor of NCUA on the two provisions that were originally struck down by the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
Banking regulators move to loosen Volcker requirements [ [link removed] ]
Yesterday, the FDIC and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency approved an interagency rule that would loosen Volcker rule requirements on big banks; three other banking regulators must still approve it. NAFCU had urged the agencies to withdraw their proposed rulemaking, arguing that relaxing the requirements could undermine financial stability.

NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger addressed the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) Tuesday at its 56th Annual Conference in Chicago on current efforts in Washington that could impact credit unions. The conference began Sunday and concludes today.
