Friends,

The Confederate Battle Flag is a symbol of the division, racism and rebellion against the United States.

That's why the Marines and U.S. Navy have already announced they will ban the Confederate Battle Flag on their bases. It's time for the Army, Air Force, and Coast Guard to follow suit. Do you agree?

Then sign my petition today to demand U.S. military leaders remove ALL Confederate symbols from military bases.

Critics will accuse me of trying to "erase history." They will say the Civil War was not about slavery, but about "states' rights."

If this was not a war fought over a State's right to sanction the killing, owning and selling of Black Americans -- what was it about?

As a Veteran and the descendent of Americans who fought on both sides of the Civil War, I know that our nation can honor its history without honoring a tradition of owning, selling and abusing human beings.

I know many of you feel strongly about this too, so please join me and sign my petition. You can do so at this link:

Thank you for raising your voice.

All my best,

Tammy Duckworth
