Ignacio, “Nacho,” is fighting a respiratory disorder that requires frequent treatments, lots of medications and a daily dose of hope. Despite the challenges of his critical illness, he and his family choose to find joy every chance they get. 
 
“We don’t take life for granted; we live life to the fullest,” reflected Nacho’s mom, Paola.

Paola says her son’s motto is to make people laugh and smile. During his wish to go to Hawaii and learn to surf, they did a lot of smiling and laughing! But wish mom Paola said it best.

“Seeing your kids smile and dream of things that are bigger than them is such a privilege,” said Paola. “As a mom of a wish kid, I think a lot of times we carry a lot on our shoulders, and Make-A-Wish^® not only allows our kiddos to dream, but it gives moms and dads an opportunity to see magic through our kiddos’ eyes.”

She continued, “You guys are just phenomenal. I will tell other [wish] moms that there is hope, that in the midst of the trials, there are people that want to be in your corner cheering you up.”
