Oldham Archives is on the move There will be temporary changes to our archives and local studies service this summer, as the service moves into its new home in the redeveloped Spindles Centre. The current temporary service location in Oldham Library will close to the public at 4pm tomorrow (Saturday 31 May). Moving to a new location is a huge task and we will have to reduce some of our services until the work is done. From Sunday 1 June, until the service opens in its new home at Spindles, in-person access to original, printed or digital collections won’t be possible. During the move, staff access to the collections will also be limited. The team will do its best to answer enquiries and will explain why if this isn’t possible. Until then, users of all Oldham Libraries can access digital resources, including Ancestry, Find My Past, British Newspaper Archive, and the National Library of Scotland OS Map collection online for free using our public computers. Ministerial visit shines light on local improvements
It was great to welcome a special visitor to Chadderton as Alex Norris MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Local Government, heard all about our exciting neighbourhood investment plans for the town.
He was welcomed by Oldham Council Leader Cllr Arooj Shah and Laura Windsor-Welsh, who chairs the Chadderton Deal Board and is also Oldham Director at Action Together.
It was a valuable opportunity to share how we're working to make Chadderton an even better place to live and thrive.
