Hello,

Maura has been making big progress this month, so as May draws to a close I wanted to send along a note with some of what she’s been delivering for Massachusetts!

* May kicked off with Massachusetts being named as the #1 state for working moms , coming after Maura made progress to expand the number of child care seats, increase educator wages and stabilize child care businesses.

* This month the Healey-Driscoll Administration took action to limit the cost of health care deductibles and co-pays that patients are required to pay, limiting price increases to the rate of medical inflation — the first time Massachusetts has done this.

* Maura announced that her administration’s plan to close all hotel shelters is six months ahead of schedule , with the remaining 32 hotels expected to close this summer. The number of hotel shelters is down 2/3rds from their peak in 2023.

* She stood up for more than one million Massachusetts families who rely on SNAP, including children, seniors, veterans and people with disabilities, calling on congress to reject federal cuts to food assistance.

* She supported local businesses already struggling due to the Trump Tariffs by rejecting a rate hike in workers’ compensation insurance, saving businesses an estimated $87 million .

* Maura stood up for consumers and businesses by filing her Energy Affordability, Independence & Innovation Act to save ratepayers $10 billion in addition to the $6 billion saved by ratepayers from her Energy Affordability Agenda announced in March. The act will work by getting costs off bills, holding utilities accountable, and reducing barriers to cutting edge nuclear technology.

* The Healey Driscoll Administration announced that registration would be opening for Literacy Launch Institutes , a new teacher training opportunity to ensure that instructors are best equipped to help meet the literacy needs of our students.

* In Revere, she spoke out about Donald Trump’s devastating Medicaid cuts which will cost Massachusetts’ health care system $1.75 billion , take away health care for 250,000 people , and raise costs for everyone.

* Maura also made a big announcement about cutting red tape this week. By eliminating outdated and duplicative requirements that raise costs for businesses and consumers, she’s making it easier to do business in Massachusetts.

Maura is taking action to lower costs, stand up to Donald Trump, and make Massachusetts stronger and more competitive.

If you believe in the work that she’s doing, please consider chipping in to power her work and help her hit this month’s grassroots fundraising goal. We have a lot of ground to cover in order to close the gap before the end of May, and we really appreciate any support.
