Our generation and our country are being destroyed by the gun violence epidemic.

It's time we address it head on. It's time to stop putting our lives in the hands of complicit policymakers. It's time for peace.

That's why we -- survivors and, hopefully, the last generation to experience gun violence -- are introducing a comprehensive agenda to end the epidemic: A Peace Plan for a Safer America.

Unlike thoughts and prayers, we are demanding bold C.H.A.N.G.E., asking that policymakers take these six vital steps:

1. Change the standards of gun ownership
2. Halve the rates of gun deaths in ten years
3. Accountability for the gun lobby and industry
4. Name a National Director of Gun Violence Prevention
5. Generate community-based solutions
6. Empower the next generation

The Peace Plan sets out to save the lives that NRA-backed politicians have ignored. That's why the Peace Plan is as ambitious as it is intersectional. We want to go beyond piecemeal solutions and put forth a comprehensive plan to address all types of gun violence: suicides, urban gun violence, intimate partner violence, accidental shootings, and shootings driven by ideologies of hatred.

This is a plan worth fighting for and worth surviving for. Our agenda shifts power away from the NRA, and puts it in the hands of those most closely affected. The time for waiting is over. We're taking our lives -- and our country -- into our own hands.
