![]() Patriot, You can't make stuff like this up. FBI Director Kash Patel has eliminated the FBI's office of internal auditing – the very unit set up during President Trump's first term of office to uncover abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to spy on Americans. We asked the government to shut down waste, fraud, and abuse. Instead, they shut down the internal watchdogs exposing waste, fraud, and abuse! Section 702 of FISA has been used hundreds of thousands of times against law-abiding Americans without a warrant. The most notorious target was the Trump campaign itself. But the Deep State didn't just spy on Trump. They spied on pro-life activists. . . They spied on anti-lockdown activists. . . They spied on concerned parents. . . In other words, they spied on American dissidents like you and me. Apparently, Director Patel believes now that he's in charge, the FBI will suddenly become a perfect group of saints. Patriot, no administration should have the power of warrantless mass surveillance, period.
Shutting down this office makes it much more likely a future administration will ramp up abuses once again. That's why you and I need to speak out against warrantless surveillance NOW, while there is still time to FORCE the Deep State back into their constitutional box. Law-abiding American patriots – you and me – are the Deep State’s target. Then, now, and in the future. That’s why they so bitterly oppose having to get a warrant to spy on you, even from a court that practically serves as a rubber stamp: because they’ve spied on us by the millions. That's why we're counting on you to send your STOP THE SURVEILLANCE STATE directive to Congress right now. In another bizarre story of government surveillance, you may recall that last month, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired three of his top aides. They were accused of leaking information to the media. When the White House asked how these leaks were discovered, the Pentagon blithely claimed it was by illegally tapping their phones. The details remain murky, but the fired aides deny any wrongdoing. By many accounts, there is a power struggle behind the scenes at the Pentagon between powerful factions who want an aggressive foreign policy and those who don’t . . . such as the aides who were fired. If these aides’ phones were actually tapped, that means not only is warrantless mass surveillance being used to spy on average Americans – it's also being used as a tool to dig up dirt – real or fake – to purge Trump administration officials. It's unreal. The fact is, we cannot allow this to continue if our beloved country is to remain – in any sense – free. Warrantless mass spying is a nightmare out of George Orwell's 1984. Even if the current administration succeeds at reining in the Deep State over the next four years, if warrantless surveillance of Americans is still the law of the land, it’s just a matter of time before we’re in the crosshairs again! You and I simply MUST demand permanent change NOW, while we have a fighting chance! This battle will come to a head next spring, when FISA Section 702 is up for renewal – but the critical hearings have already begun. If you can, please chip in a donation after you sign your directive. You and I came within ONE vote of winning this battle in the U.S. House just last year. With your help, we can win this battle next year. Please sign your directive and then, if possible, chip in a donation right away. Thanks for all you do, ![]() John McCardell Executive Director P.S.
