Radical Republicans are wielding their slim majority in Congress as a weapon against the most vulnerable Americans, including children and seniors.
John: I came to Congress to advocate for children and families, not billionaires. And I want a majority in Congress that feels the same.
Next month is a Federal Election Commission public filing and what we have in the bank will not only send a message that the people are fed up, it will also lay the strong foundation we need to campaign hard where we are most vulnerable. Can you chip in?
Over the last five months — culminating in a vote for passage of a horrifying budget bill in the House last week — my Republican colleagues gleefully approved legislation to:
- Slash Medicaid healthcare coverage for 8.6 million Americans in a monstrosity of a bill that could trigger over $500 billion in automatic cuts to Medicare;
- Disenfranchise voters, particularly married women;
- Viciously bully transgender people;
- Cut nutrition benefits for children to fund tax cuts for billionaires;
- Reduce household income for the poorest Americans and raise income for the richest Americans;
- Increase the deficit by nearly $4 trillion;
- And rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.” 🤦♀️
This deeply irresponsible legislation, if passed into law, would impact the lives of every single American by further eroding the social safety net, increasing healthcare costs, and concentrating more wealth at the top. I'm working every day to stand in the GOP's way, and I need some help.
Here's how you can take a stand against the GOP this month: The NRCC is specifically targeting PA to solidify the GOP majority, so at every moment we have to show Dem strength. For next month’s critical FEC public filing, my team needs to raise an additional $12,000 to stay on track with our goals and plans. And we need you to help us stay on track.
