Instead of working to lower everyday costs for families, Trump and Congressional Republicans have advanced a budget that slashes more than $700 billion in funding for Medicaid, SNAP, and other critical programs – but gives corporations and the ultra-wealthy massive tax cuts.
That’s inexcusable.
I’m not backing down from this fight. I’m ready to continue holding our ground and protect the millions of Americans and Washingtonians who will be hurt by the GOP’s plan.
The stakes have never been higher. These budget cuts aren’t just numbers, they’re a snapshot of the Washingtonians and Americans across the country who will lose the health care, food assistance, and other services on which they rely.
House Republicans have made their priorities clear, but my fellow Democrats and I won’t stand by while billionaires receive handouts at the expense of working families.
