Accuracy in Media released a new investigation that shows an administrator at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte bragging about circumventing the UNC Board of Governors’ system-wide ban on DEI-related work and spending.

In the video, Janique Sanders, Assistant Director of Leadership & Community at UNC Charlotte, tells AIM’s undercover investigator that “there are opportunities” to do “covert” DEI-related work.

She goes on to say “the word of the year is ‘finesse,’” implying that UNC Charlotte will continue DEI initiatives under new names or programs.

The UNC System Board of Governors banned all DEI offices and spending across public universities in May 2024.  UNC Charlotte claimed to be in compliance, publicly announcing that it had shut down three DEI offices.

But behind closed doors, the agenda continued.

When we confronted university leadership with the evidence, UNC Charlotte’s provost refused to respond and walked away.

This investigation has already garnered more than 3.3 million views across social media platforms, and even gained the attention of NC legislators as well as U.S. DOJ officials.
