John,
I’ll be honest; it's not easy asking for your support at a time like this.
The election for Governor of California takes place in just over 12 months. Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his allies are trying to destroy everything that actually makes America great, while exposing millions to violence and intimidation and bankrupting our working families.
It's not lost on me that WE HAVE TO ACT NOW. That's why I’m on the ground in our communities right now, organizing wherever possible, and actively fighting back against Trump’s chaos.
And here’s the kicker: even without Trump, California is facing a host of legitimate crises that need to be addressed. Quickly.
Between housing insecurity, the skyrocketing cost of insurance, the growing effects of climate change, and more exacerbating the affordability crisis -- our state is at a crossroads; and whether or not we meet these challenges will have a ripple effect that will last for decades to come.
Most don’t know this, but June 30 marks an important fundraising deadline in the race for California Governor. It's the first time candidates are required to make fundraising totals public since multiple opponents entered the race, including two far-right extremists.
Whether we like it or not, pundits will define this race, and our attention will be dominated by these numbers. And with that momentum comes setting the agenda for the future of our state. So I have to ask:
With this deadline looming, I'm hoping you can add a $3 donation before midnight. Please know that I would not ask if it weren’t important.
