Friend --
After years of parents speaking out and Republicans leading
the charge, we’re finally starting to win the battle for girls’ sports
in California.
When a transgender athlete qualified for the state finals and
knocked a deserving girl out of the competition, President
Trump stepped in—threatening to cut funding unless Gavin Newsom
complied with federal rules that bar biological males from competing
against girls.
Newsom panicked. In a scramble to save face, his administration
announced a “pilot program” allowing girls who narrowly missed out,
because of transgender participation, to also compete.
But don’t be fooled. Newsom’s new rules don’t fix the
problem.
Biological boys are still allowed to compete against girls. And
now, Newsom’s “solution” is to tack on a bizarre third category just
for transgender athletes.
That means at this weekend’s Track and Field Championships, there
could be three first-place winners in the
same event: one biological boy, one transgender athlete, one
biological girl.
This is Newsom’s insane attempt to avoid embarrassment while
continuing to push a radical agenda.
But it’s also a sign that common sense is breaking through.
The left is finally on defense.
Californians know this is wrong. Just 24% think males (transgender)
should be allowed to compete in female sports.
Republicans are leading…and we’re making
progress.
But the fight isn’t over. With the state championships happening
this weekend, we still don’t have answers about how fairness will
actually be protected. Girls across California are watching, and so
are we.
Now’s the time to act. If you believe in protecting fairness in
sports and standing up to Newsom’s radical agenda, chip
in today. Together, we can keep up the pressure and win this fight
for good.
Help
us protect girls’ sports.
Thank you,
Brian W. Jones
