Top Republican congressman says we should listen to Putin, get more of our news from the Kremlin
House Republican Homeland Security Committee Chair Mark Green wants the federal government to "listen" to the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin more, especially as it pertains to Russia's brutal invasion of neighboring Ukraine. Bro, totally. We should definitely get more of our news from the Kremlin, just like we should listen to Camel Joe discuss the virtues of smoking or any random 6-year-old on why there's no such thing as "too much sugar." What's next? Letting some worm-brained, anti-vax conspiracy theorist and former heroin addict dictate federal health policy? Oh, wait.

EarthJustice takes the fight to Trump and his corporate polluters
EarthJustice: The real battle for our planet, for our environment, and for our public health takes place in the court room. While big corporations use their high-paid lawyers to get pollution rules relaxed, EarthJustice is on the front lines making sure they don't get their way. Our clean air, our clean water, and our green future hinge on EarthJustice's legal team winning big fights behind the scene — but they don't have the war chest of billionaires to do it with. Will you chip in to EarthJustice and help them in their mission?
Federal court blocks Trump from imposing sweeping tariffs under emergency powers law
Tsk, tsk. A federal court on Wednesday blocked Donald Trump from imposing his incredibly stupid, sweeping tariffs on imports under an emergency-powers law, swiftly throwing into doubt the MAGA cult leader's signature set of economic policies that have rattled global financial markets, frustrated trade partners, and raised broader fears about inflation intensifying and the economy slumping. With the wannabe dictator's favored club effectively yanked from the proverbial bag, it remains unclear if the White House will pause all of Donald's emergency power tariffs in the interim. The wannabe dictator might still be able to temporarily launch import taxes of 15% for 150 days on nations with which the US runs a substantial trade deficit. The ruling from a three-judge panel at the New York-based US Court of International Trade notes that a president has this authority under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974.

US will "aggressively" revoke Chinese students' visas, Rubio says
The Trump regime's ongoing war against higher education continues at a breakneck pace, as "lobotomized" Sec. of State Marco Rubio announced that the US government will start “aggressively” revoking the visas of Chinese students. It sounds like fascism because it is fascism.

Elon Musk officially announces departure from Trump’s government
That's a wrap, folks! Judging by the damage Elon's incredibly stupid DOGE crusade has inflicted on his reputation, Tesla car sales, public opinion on nüTwitter, or his future prospects of hiring willing surrogates to incubate his "legion" of mini-Musks, we'd say Phony Stark's time in Washington was a resounding success!
Sen. Fetterman took luxury Israel trip on NYC mental health nonprofit’s dime
Freshman Sen. John Fetterman has missed 30 floor votes this year — the third worst record in the Senate — and hasn't been holding any town halls, but somehow found time in his busy schedule back in March to fly first class to Israel and stay in five-star hotels on a "fact-finding mission," which cost $36,000 and was paid for by a mental health nonprofit in New York City. Fetterman has held just one public appearance in Pennsylvania, the state he ostensibly represents, since August 2024. A fervent supporter of Israel's ongoing campaign of obliteration in Gaza, the first-term Democrat appears much more interested in being Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's top cheerleader than actually representing the people who elected him.
ICE "grabbing people out of their cars" on Martha’s Vineyard
More than 40 people were arrested in a series of traffic stops on Martha's Vineyard by jackbooted ICE thugs with the help of FBI and DEA agents, who apparently don't have anything better to do than help terrorize innocent people whose only crimes were being born in the wrong geographic coordinates. "You ought to be ashamed of yourselves!" an onlooker cried out. Seriously, how do these jackals sleep at night?
Stephen Miller, Kristi Noem tell ICE to supercharge immigrant arrests
Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem are still neck and neck in their race to be the most, well, racist members of the Trump administration. During a recent meeting, America's most infamous vampire and resident Gestapo Barbie laid into top immigration officials, demanding that they arrest THREE THOUSAND people a day. This unreasonable and monstrously cruel demand will certainly lead to the arrest and detention of countless innocent people, especially considering just how many immigrants who are here *legally* have already been swept up in the Trump regime's white supremacist dragnet. ICE currently have 49,000 people in custody, far more than their budget is designed to accommodate. Miller and Noem need to be put on trial for this unimaginable amount of human suffering after all of this is over. We think Nuremberg, Pennsylvania would be a good choice.
GOP Rep. Ashley Hinson met with boos at Iowa town hall
Iowa's Ashley Hinson was the latest GOP rep to face the ire of her own constituents understandably ticked off about the very not good direction Donald Trump is steering the country — with the House's full blessing, of course. Hinson was met with a chorus of boos and jeers when she said out loud with a straight face: "The president is, I believe, fighting for you and fighting for me." Hinson told the crowd she was "proud" to vote for the MAGA cult leader's "Big, Beautiful Bill," which, in addition to giving the megawealthy massive and completely unnecessary tax cuts, will kick as many as eight million people off Medicaid AND strip critical SNAP benefits from millions of low-income, vulnerable Americans — including kids! Gee, can't imagine why the good people of Iowa were less than pleased.
Republican Rep. Mike Flood admits he did not read Trump's "big, beautiful bill" before voting for it
Republican Mike Flood also faced down an angry crowd this week who demanded to know why he voted for a bill that made it harder for judges to hold parties before them in contempt for defying court orders — and his constituents in Nebraska were more than a little pissed when he admitted it was because he hadn't actually read the bill. It's a very low bar — expecting elected officials to read the bills they're actually voting on, but here we are. Flood tried to pivot and play the hate card, asking the audience, "Do you want illegal immigrants to get tax-funded benefits?" The crowd answered loudly, "Yes!" Maybe there's some hope after all.

Doom and doomer
Meanwhile...
Hope...
