In Kansas City, we have made significant progress since my initial involvement in Democratic politics, serving on the City Council. That experience provided valuable lessons that have shaped my approach to public service. Additionally, having experienced homelessness in my youth, right here in Kansas City, has deeply influenced my commitment to ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to succeed. These experiences continue to drive my dedication to making a positive impact in our community.
