Farm Sanctuary’s 2025 Membership Month Triple Match ends in just two days, and I want you to know just how much your support means for farm animals like Magik!
Early in her life, Magik was shoved into a plastic bag and thrown into the trunk of a car. She was one among many chickens who would be sold for food. We don’t know how long Magik suffered in those conditions, but we do know she witnessed her chicken friends die one by one—and she nearly died herself.
Thankfully, a kind rescuer changed Magik’s fate. After taking the resilient chicken in, they turned to Farm Sanctuary.
Thanks to your kind-hearted support, Magik is now roaming free at our Southern California sanctuary. Here, she will always have space to stretch her wings, feel the wind on her feathers, and simply be herself.
The heartbreaking truth is that Magik’s experience is not unique. In the egg industry, male chicks are often left to suffocate in bags or ground up alive, simply because they cannot lay eggs. They are considered useless.
