Getting Back to Business

Beginning June 15, 2020, the Treasurer's Office will reopen in-person services for customers making cash payments.

The Treasurer’s Office will continue to offer virtual services Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. For customers who are unable to utilize those services, such as making a cash payment, our team will be happy to assist you during the hours below. 

To further minimize in-person contact, kiosks will be installed in the coming weeks at each of our three office locations. Don't forget that there are a variety of payment options available that are convenient, and free when paying with a check or electronic check. 

Beaufort County earns National Achievement Award

The National Association of Counties has recognized the Investment Management Program created by Beaufort County Treasurer Maria Walls for its innovative and outstanding approach to addressing the process of investing public money.

As your elected Treasurer, I want you to know that our efforts are not spent solely on the functions you see, but every aspect of our operations. Having a successful investment program is not at the forefront of people’s minds but it can provide a significant revenue stream to local governments without impacting taxpayers. With over 3,000 counties nationwide, it is an absolute honor to have our program recognized by the National Association of Counties not just for the hard work we have put into the program but because it sheds light on an otherwise unnoticed topic.
