Dear John,

Today we are proud to announce your next candidate of 2020: Deb Ciamacca in Pennsylvania ([link removed]) . We know there is some dissonance celebrating the announcement of a new candidate right now. But, we also know that the elections this November are incredibly important, and we cannot move forward as a nation without leadership that shows up, stands up, and speaks out. Read on to learn more about this candidate, and find out what you can do to help right now.

ABOUT DEB CIAMACCA

Deb Ciamacca is a Marine Corps Veteran and public school teacher. After attending Penn State on an ROTC Scholarship, Deb served as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. After leaving the Marines, Deb worked in the private sector as a manufacturing manager at several businesses, before returning to Pennsylvania to work at Neutronics, a family owned environmental and instrumentation company in Exton. In her role, Deb managed teams of hundreds of employees and learned first-hand how local business and workers are affected by health care affordability issues and other safety net issues.

After her time in the private sector, Deb was called to serve her community again. She became a Social Studies teacher at Conestoga High School and taught government, economics, and world cultures to thousands of students.

WHY PENNSYLVANIA IS IMPORTANT
Democrats need to win 9 House seats to flip the chamber blue. Momentum is on our side: in 2018, Democrats broke a Republican supermajority in the Senate and flipped a dozen State House seats. This win would bring Democrats even closer to flipping the chamber blue in November. This is a ‘last chance’ district: whoever is elected to the PA state legislature in November 2020 will draw the next round of district lines.

WHAT CAN I DO RIGHT NOW?
1. Make a donation of $20.20 (or more if you can!). ([link removed]) Your donation will go entirely to your candidates. Opponents are often funded by just a few big donors, so let’s show them some grassroots love.
2. Spread the word. ([link removed]) Help others learn about your candidates on social media. Please follow and like, and check out our shareable graphics on our candidate pages.
3. Step up to host a (virtual) house party or phonebank. Reach out to your District Captains to learn more, If you need help getting in touch with your local leaders, let us know ([link removed]) .

WHAT’S NEXT?
Right now the most important thing we can do is help raise early money. ([link removed]) The global pandemic continues to impact all campaigns, making our remote work all the more important.

Over the coming months, you will have the opportunity to phonebank, write postcards, and textbank. In the meantime, check out our Virtual Organizing Hub (www.sisterdistrict.com/virtual-organizing) for resources on how to move your events online.

This year is shaping up to be a historic one. We are grateful for the opportunity to help elect strong leaders who will fight for a fairer, more just society. Thank you for joining us.
