Friend, Donald Trump and the GOP have been bragging a lot about their so-called "big, beautiful bill." Here's the truth about what's in this bill – and why I voted against it:
* This bill will gut Medicaid. That means millions of Americans would lose access to health care – including 750,000 Michiganders.
* This bill will likely add $4 trillion to our national debt. That would only add more chaos to our economy, which is already suffering from Trump's disastrous economic agenda.
* This bill will give a handout to the wealthiest people in the country. That means billionaires like Elon Musk would get a massive tax break, while hardworking Americans get higher prices, less health care, and more uncertainty.
I'm not afraid to stand up to Trump and the GOP when they want to harm American families. But if Democrats are going to stop Trump's chaos agenda for good, we must take back the Senate – and experts predict that it could all come down to my race here in Michigan.
