“The word of the year is finesse.”

That’s how one University of North Carolina-Charlotte official described her approach to keeping DEI programs alive -- even though they’re banned under North Carolina law.

Her name is Janique Sanders.  She’s the Assistant Director of Leadership & Community Engagement at the university.

When speaking to AIM’s undercover journalists, she admitted that while there are no “outward” DEI positions available at the school, there are still “covert” opportunities to continue doing DEI work.

“If you’re looking for, like, an outward DEI position, not going to happen,” she said.  “But if you are interested in doing work that is covert, there are opportunities.”

Let’s be clear: this is a direct violation of state law.

When AIM confronted UNC Charlotte leadership with this footage, they didn’t explain.  They ran.
