AT&T has gone all out supporting #BlackLivesMatter in public statements.
But its political donations tell a different story, bankrolling a
far-right senator who’s called for military force to be used against
protestors.

Tell AT&T to drop the hypocrisy and stop funding Tom Cotton now.

John,

AT&T has positioned itself as an ally to the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
Turning over its social media pages to the voices of Black staff and
condemning racism. The company's CEO has called on all other companies to
stand with it against racism.

But its political donations tell a very different story: AT&T is a major
donor to far-right Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton.

AT&T says it’s “encouraged” by protestors calling for an end to racist
discrimination. Tom Cotton says the military should shoot them.

Words are cheap John - but political donations aren’t.

[ [link removed] ]Demand AT&T cut all ties with Tom Cotton and pledge to stop bankrolling
racist politicians.

AT&T’s CEO Randall Stephenson said last week the protests are “...about
justice. And when you’re dealing with issues of just basic core justice
that every CEO, every leader in America needs to step up and ask, ‘What is
the right thing to do?’”

Stephenson has just three weeks left before stepping down as CEO. He
desperately wants to leave a legacy as a progressive business leader.

But we can’t let him walk away while his company is one of the top
corporate contributors to a senator who denies racism exists. A senator
who has advocated “sending in the troops” to silence protests, arresting
journalists for reporting inconvenient truths, and for the unfettered
right to torture prisoners.

We’re at an unprecedented moment, where the cries of injustice that have
been made by communities of color for so long are finally starting to be
heard.

But now is the time for action, not just empty words. We can’t allow
companies like AT&T to ride the coattails of this movement all the while
funding the very politicians who would see all progress stamped out.
