Dear Neighbor,

I hope you are well. This week, I have information on my Shred Event with Representative Matt Bradford in July, a recap of weekend events including the Collegeville-Trappe Memorial Day parade and West Norriton Community Day, the Perkiomen Mapping & Flood Mitigation Study Public Meeting and more!

As always, I hope you find the information below useful.

Shred Event

Save the date! I’m partnering with Rep. Matt Bradford to host our annual Shred Event on Saturday, July 26, at Norristown Area High School from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or until the trucks are full). This is a paper-only shred event with a limit of two boxes per household. No electronics or trash are permitted, and any boxes or bags will be returned to you after materials are shredded.

If you have any questions, please reach out to my office at 484-200-8263.

Memorial Day

On Monday, I had the opportunity to give remarks and walk alongside fellow veterans in the Collegeville-Trappe Memorial Day parade. Thank you to Collegeville Borough and Trappe Borough for hosting this parade to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country.

West Norriton Community Day

West Norriton Community Day was a hit! On Sunday, my staff spoke with constituents, shared valuable resources and explained how our office can help you! Thanks again to West Norriton Township for hosting this event for our community!

Paul Miller’s Law Effective June 5

Friends, I’m sending you a reminder that Paul Miller’s Law, which makes it illegal to use a hand-held device while driving, goes into effect on June 5. Whether you’re driving, stopped temporarily by traffic, waiting at a red light or any other delay, law enforcement will start issuing written warnings for any violators on June 5 and summary citations on June 6.

Please stay safe on the roads and put down your phone while driving – the text can wait. For more information, you can visit this website.

Perkiomen Mapping & Flood Mitigation Study Public Meeting

Coming up on Wednesday, June 18, the Perkiomen Mapping & Flood Mitigation will host two virtual public meetings to share preliminary results, recommendations, and review study objectives. You can sign up using the following links:

Boating Safety Tips

Last week we highlighted National Safe Boating Week, but safe boating procedures extend well beyond just a week of recognition. No matter when or where, it’s important to stay safe when you’re out on the water, especially since our area has several waterways.

Please check out the video for a few easy steps to follow this spring and summer!

How to Contact Your Federal Representatives

Remember to maintain federal accountability and express your concerns and questions with your federal officials in the House, Senate, and White House. Let them know you are paying attention to what they are and aren't doing to protect your interests. Also, ensure your state representatives are informed too.
