![]() I wanted to tell you about who I am, where I come from, and why I’m in this fight. Growing up, I was raised by a single mom who spent 20 years serving in the Army. She taught me the value of hard work, and the importance of giving back to your community and your country — values I carried with me as I worked multiple jobs to pay my way through school and become the first in my family to graduate from college. Since then, I have dedicated my life to public service. After I graduated, I got to work helping Native American reservations build communities and economically thrive. This work inspired me to apply to be a White House Fellow, where I worked under President Obama in the Department of Transportation. I ran for Congress in 2018 because Kansans weren’t receiving the representation they deserved. And when I won, I flipped a long-held Republican seat and became one of the first Native American women ever elected to the House of Representatives. And every day since then, I think of the values my mom taught me: Hard work, empathy, determination. I’m proud to bring those values to everything I do in Congress. There aren’t many members of Congress with a background and a voice like mine. But what really matters is how I use that voice. That’s why I’m using mine to hold National Republicans accountable, push back against their billionaire-backed agenda, and protect the people of Kansas from Donald Trump’s disregard for the rule of law. But the cold, hard truth is that I’m up against a lot. For years, National Republicans have tried to replace me with a rubber stamp for their disturbingly extreme agenda. And now, they think next year is the year they can finally get it done. So I’m humbly asking: If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
