why your support still matters so much.
John,
Before we ask you to chip in ahead of this month’s deadline, we want to take a moment to reflect on how far this movement has come — and why your support still matters so much.
FIRST: We rose up. In 2018, after the shooting at our school in Parkland, we turned grief into action and made history. Millions marched with us in the largest single-day protest against gun violence the world had ever seen.
THEN: We kept going. We built a youth-led movement from the ground up—chapter by chapter, protest by protest, vote by vote. We’ve taken on the gun lobby and pushed this country forward:
- We got the White House to open the first-ever Office of Gun Violence Prevention
- We’ve helped pass over 300 gun safety laws across the U.S.
- We helped pass the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act—the biggest federal gun safety law in 30 years
- We’ve trained thousands of young leaders to carry this fight into their communities
NOW: We’re organizing and building power. Last fall, MFOL organizers teamed up with youth-led allies in Arizona to knock on nearly 30,000 doors and make 50,000 calls in just one weekend. It was a clear reminder of what this movement can do when we show up together.
That same energy is fueling the work we’re doing right now: training young leaders, organizing in communities most impacted by gun violence, and fighting every day for the change we deserve.
We’re still only 20% of the way to our May goal. Can you chip in $20.25 before midnight on May 31 to help us close the gap?
