Featured Funding OpportunitiesFY2024 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) and Fire Prevention & Safety (FP&S)The SAFER Program provides funding directly to fire departments and volunteer firefighter interest organizations to assist in increasing the number of firefighters.The FP&S Program supports projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards. The FY2024 SAFER and FP&S application periods opened May 23 at 9 a.m. ET and will close on THURSDAY July 3 at 5 p.m. ET.First Round of FY 2026 New York State Council on the Arts GrantsThe FY2026 application periods for Support for Organizations, Support for Artists, Support for Targeted Opportunities, and Support for Regrants and Services are now open. This grant opportunity offers essential funding for general operations, artist support, rehearsal space, apprenticeships, and residencies.The deadline to apply is Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 5 p.m.FY2025 Regional Food System Partnerships Program (RFSP)The RFSP supports partnerships that connect public and private resources to plan and develop local or regional food systems. The RFSP focuses on building and strengthening local or regional food economy viability and resilience. Applicants will work with their partners to catalyze the development of local or regional food systems.RFSP offers two types of projects, 24-month Planning and Design and 36-month Implementation and Expansion Projects.Applications are due on June 27, 2025.2025 COPS Office Grant Programs The COPS Office recently announced its funding opportunities for 2025. Each opportunity has its own application deadline. Carefully read each NOFO and note the deadline. Below are a few of the featured funding opportunities:COPS Hiring Program (CHP)A competitive award program designed to provide funding directly to law enforcement agencies to hire and/or rehire additional career law enforcement officers. Applications are due Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 4:59 PM ET.Safer Outcomes: Enhancing De-Escalation and Crisis Response Training for Law EnforcementSafer Outcomes funds are used to promote training on de-escalation and crisis response for law enforcement officers, support personnel employed by law enforcement agencies, and mental health professionals working on crisis intervention teams. Applications are due June 30, 2025 at 4:59 PM ET.Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act (LEMHWA) ProgramLEMHWA funds the delivery of and access to mental health and wellness services, training, and programming for employees of law enforcement agencies and their families. Featured Federal and State WebinarsFederal Transit Administration Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program WebinarJoin FTA next month to learn about the FY25 Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program and Low or No Emission (Low-No) Program which will award approximately $1.5 billion to support state and local efforts to replace and rehabilitate transit fleets with low and no emission buses, renovate and construct bus facilities, and support workforce development.Potential applicants are welcome to register for and attend the scheduled webinar on June 4, 2025 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., ET.
