John,
Recently, I testified before Congress about the so-called SAVE Act.
Let me be clear: this bill is one of the most dangerous threats to voting rights we’ve seen in our lifetime.
It would require documentary proof of citizenship just to register to vote, and as we've seen in places like Kansas, such a requirement would likely block millions of eligible Americans from voting.
Seniors.
Students.
Women who have changed their last names.
People without easy access to government documents.
That’s why I went to Washington. I wasn’t just speaking for Minnesota, I was speaking for every voter in this country who believes our democracy should be secure and accessible.
While the chaos swirls around us, I’m asking for your help so that I can keep shining the light of truth on these issues. We need to raise another $8,000 by the end of the month. Will you please chip in $5 or more right now?

Congress may not always listen to the truth. But that doesn’t mean we stop telling it.
Minnesota has proven that you can have both security and access. Our election system is secure, honest, and fair, and our turnout is among the best in the country.
Secretaries of State races, like mine, don’t always get the most attention, but we are the best defense of our democracy.
That’s what I’m defending. That’s what I need your help to protect. Let’s close this gap and finish the month strong →
Thank you for always standing with me.
Steve
