Constitutional Ambassadors Program Beginning in September 2019, teachers and students from across the country can participate in the Constitutional Ambassadors program, which extends from the classroom to the National Constitution Center with a day–long educational experience, and then back to the classroom, where students can connect with other classrooms across America for crucial conversations on current constitutional issues. The experience includes: Classroom-ready resources from the Interactive Constitution: Classroom Edition to prepare for a visit to the Center An immersive visit filled with tours, workshops focused on key constitutional questions, and Town Halls where students have the opportunity to meet constitutional experts Support after the visit to promote civil dialogue in the classroom Sign up to receive more information about this program here. 2019-2020 Saturday Seminars Saturday Seminars are back! These seminars, which provide four reportable professional development hours, enhance participants' instructional strategies for teaching the Constitution in their classroom through tours, classroom application sessions, and practicing civil dialogue techniques. Upcoming dates and topics are: September 7: Getting Ready for Constitution Day October 12: Voting Rights January 11: Civil War and Reconstruction February 8: The Presidency March 7: The Second Amendment April 18: Federalism May 2: Teacher Appreciation There is no cost to attend, but educators will have to successfully register for the program. Join us at the National Constitution Center on September 17 to celebrate the Constitution's birthday! Be a part of the all of the events planned for the day, including: A flag ceremony and Preamble Challenge Student Town Hall where visitors can meet George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Birthday celebration complete with cake, served by Washington and Lincoln. Admission to the museum on September 17 is free, made possible in part by PECO.
