Emily Capisciolto
Pediatric Oncology Nurse, Grown-Up wish kid |
I understand the profound impact a nurse can have on a child’s life. I felt it myself as a wish kid.
When I was 11 years old, I was treated for leukemia — which sparked my dream to be a pediatric nurse when I grew up! Now I get to serve at the bedside of kids just like me as they fight critical illnesses.
My wish changed my life forever. I wished to have the ultimate portable photo studio, which included tools that I still use in my photography today!
Wishes like mine are only possible thanks to WishMakers like you. That’s why we’ve set a flash goal of 100 donations — from 100 WishMakers — today in honor of National Nurses Month.
As it is for every wish kid, my wish experience was an important part of my recovery. When you go through cancer treatment, it’s easy to lose your identity. My wish helped me figure out who I was after treatment.
Nurses are essential in every wish kid’s medical journey — and National Nurses Month is a chance to honor them and their dedication to helping children like me recover.
Please don’t wait. Make your gift in honor of nurses who care for wish kids every day and be one of the 100 WishMakers who will change lives today.
