Response to rising rate of drug deaths

New figures from the Office for National Statistics showing that deaths from drug poisoning rose by 16 per cent across England and Wales last year point to a "worrying trend," says Cllr Ray Puddifoot, London Councils’ Executive Member for Health and Care ( [link removed] ):

“It’s crucial to ensure Londoners receive the information they need to look after their own health and that specialist support is available for those with drug dependency issues. Investment in public health is an essential part of addressing these rising rates of drug-related deaths.”

State of adult social care report

Since 2010, the Adult Social Care sector has been facing unprecedented funding pressures that have impacted the sector in a variety of ways. A new report published by London Councils today examines the nature of that funding pressure, the impact on the sector and sets out eight urgent actions to ensure that people continue to receive the services that they need.
