Last week, House Republicans successfully passed The One, Big, Beautiful Bill, which delivered permanent tax cuts, removed taxes on tips and overtime, secured our border, ended taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegals, slashed taxes on Social Security, and ended oppressive EV mandates and other dangerous Green New Scam policies. 

Every single CT House Democrat Representative voted against the bill, which provides significant tax relief to Connecticut families by raising the SALT deduction cap to $40,000.

CT Democrats vote to expand the Trust Act

This expansion now allows “any aggrieved person” to seek an injunction against a municipality or its agents, including police and school employees, who communicate with federal immigration officials such as ICE.

The bill would also likely jeopardize public safety by preventing authorities from removing individuals who pose a threat to our towns and cities.

CT State Troopers to get 2.5 percent pay increase on July 1

State Sen. John Kissel of Enfield, a ranking member of the law-writing Judiciary Committee, said that many police departments are having trouble recruiting new officers, but higher pay levels could help. "So, proper compensation is the least we can do to ensure we're attracting good candidates to our State Police," he said. "If we don't have candidates to fill in spots, we're just dead in the water."
