John,
Donald Trump and his billionaire buddies are once again trying to privatize the United States Postal Service. Their goal is simple: break it apart and sell off its parts to the highest corporate bidder.
This threatens our Postal Service nationwide, especially people living in rural areas and other communities who may no longer receive mail service if the USPS is privatized. It will also harm the hundreds of thousands of Postal Workers across the country now providing reliable service to communities large and small.
The Postal Service is a lifeline to people living in rural and Indigenous communities. From medications and Social Security checks to voting by mail, communities across the country rely on the USPS every day. Unlike private carriers like UPS and FedEx, the USPS is required by law to deliver mail to all regions at a flat rate. The privatization of the Postal Service would jeopardize those rural delivery routes.
Now, a bipartisan group of lawmakers is vowing to stop Trump’s USPS privatization plan and save the people’s post office.
More than 200 members of Congress have already co-sponsored bipartisan resolutions that draw a clear line in the sand: that Congress intends to take every step needed to ensure the Postal Service remains an independent public institution.
Our allies are meeting with members of Congress this week. Let’s have their backs!
Send a direct message to your U.S. Rep and Senators urging them to sign on as a co-sponsor of H.Res.70 and S.Res.147 to stop Trump's privatization plan now.

H.Res.70 and S.Res.147 reaffirm the founding principle that the USPS exists to serve the people, not corporate billionaires seeking to maximize their own profit. These resolutions demonstrate that protecting our public Postal Service is a bipartisan concern, with support from Democrats and Republicans alike. From Republican Reps. Nick LaLota and Andrew Garbarino (both R-NY) and Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-AK), to Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH), lawmakers across red and blue districts are rejecting privatization.1,2
The USPS isn’t just a service; it’s a promise to every American. That’s why Republicans and Democrats came together in 2022 to pass the Postal Service Reform Act with overwhelming bipartisan support. And it’s why a bipartisan group also opposed the closures of USPS processing centers before the 2024 election to help protect vote-by-mail in an election year.
But now, the reprieve is over, and the second Trump administration is set on tearing down America’s institutions.
We can’t stay silent, Congress must hear from us that we will not allow a hostile takeover of the people’s post office to succeed. The damage will be irreversible. Congress must act before it’s too late.
Tell your members of Congress to sign on as a co-sponsor of H.Res.70 and S.Res.147 today.
Thank you for all you do,
