Dear Friend,
Baby monkeys are being torn from their mothers and sold into the pet trade. Deprived of their family and freedom, these monkeys often end up in small cages or dark basements. No primate should be sold or kept as a “pet.”
We can shut down this cruel industry. I’m excited to share that the Captive Primate Safety Act has been reintroduced into Congress. The Act would prohibit the private possession of primates, protecting these sensitive animals from abuse. Can you ask your federal legislators to support this critical bill?
Many of you have supported this bill before, but we have tremendous momentum this year. We just co-sponsored a screening of Chimp Crazy*, the latest documentary from Tiger King director Eric Goode, in Congress alongside many national advocacy groups. And Tonia Haddix, the villain of Chimp Crazy and one of the biggest primate exploiters in the US, finally lost her license to sell animals.
Let’s keep up the pressure, send a message today: [link removed]
