Email from ITEP Sign up today!   Join us for a timely webinar on what the federal tax debate means for racial equity The 2017 Trump tax law was proclaimed as the hallmark achievement of the first Trump administration, but it failed to create any substantial improvement in the lives of people of color or the lives of working-class people of any race. Rather, it helped wealthy, disproportionately white households. That’s because it directed its main benefits to high-income individuals and owners of corporate stocks. Both of those categories are wealthy and disproportionately white. Lawmakers continue to debate extending those tax cuts and making other substantial changes to the tax system. These policies have substantial racial and economic implications. On Wednesday June 11 from 2-3 pm ET ITEP will convene a group of researchers and advocates to discuss the impact the 2017 law has had. They will also discuss the potential consequences of the current federal tax debate. Connecting the dots between how these proposals will impact economically underserved communities will also help attendees realize that regressive tax policies hurt everyone, including people of color.   Please join us - register here today!     Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy | 1200 18th Street, NW, Suite 675 | Washington, DC 20036 US Unsubscribe | Update Profile | Constant Contact Data Notice
