On top of recall attempts, Republican leaders are pushing for a ballot campaign aimed at permanently restricting Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's emergency powers.
Not only would Republicans spend up to $1.8 million on this ballot initiative, but it would also take the Governor's power away to take action to save lives if we have a second wave of COVID-19, and put that power in the hands of the Republican-controlled legislature.
