Memorial Day is supposed to be a day to honor the men and women who gave everything for this country—their lives, their futures, their families—all in service to something bigger than themselves.

But let’s be honest: the people we’re supposed to be honoring today—the real heroes—are being treated like trash by the Trump administration.

While Trump and his MAGA allies wrap themselves in the flag and post their shallow tributes on social media, they’re slashing funding for veterans’ health care, housing, and benefits.

They’re gutting Medicaid, which thousands of veterans rely on for basic care. They’re trying to replace solemn remembrance with military parades glorifying themselves.

It’s all lip service. And veterans see right through it.

You don’t “honor the troops” by abandoning them. You don’t “support the military” by using it as a prop while cutting life-saving care behind closed doors.
