Memorial Day is a time for us to take a pause and remember the friends and fellow service members who never made it home. I think of the families who carry the weight of their loss every day.

After graduating from college, I served 5 years of active duty in the U.S. military, which were some of the best years of my life. The military allowed me to sharpen my skills and set me on the path of a lifetime of service.

The lessons I learned and my commitments during my military service continue to guide my work at every step of my journey – from the State House to Congress to Maryland Attorney General.

Discipline, courage, and service aren’t just military values. They are American values. The Trump administration and its allies are once again pushing an agenda rooted in division, extremism, and authoritarianism.

I will continue to fight to defend the values that unite us, but I need your help to keep up our momentum. Can I count on you to chip in anything you can to help us continue building up power and defend the values that unite us?
